Starting June 2nd, My Artwork will be displayed at Gallery Los Olivos. I am deeply honored to have been juried into this incredible gallery surrounded by such talented and inspiring artists. The newest finished piece of artwork, Lysianthus at Play is a 24X24 acrylic on linen. This a collaboration with another incredible artist from the UK. For a long time I had been attracted to certain floral photographs on black background that were playful, dramatic and created an awe in me again and again. Looking up the photographer I discovered they were all by the same person, Magda Indigo, a gifted photographer whose work is shown worldwide. I knew I had to contact her in the hopes that I would be permitted to paint her photographs. She has permitted me to paint one original of a selected number of her photographs of which this is the first. It will go on display at Gallery 113 starting Tuesday March 5th.
Start the new year with the very first Thursday of the year in downtown Santa Barbara! The art galleries will be open late and the town is fiestive and filled with good vibes, food and fellowship.
Come out this Thursday for the June Art Walk from 5-8 in downtown Santa Barbara. The Art Galleries all stay open late. Gallery 113 will be serving wine and light snacks. The vibe is always electric with music and great art!
I am excited to have been accepted by the Jury of the prestigious Gallery Los Olivos in Los Olivos, California. It is such a lovely town to spend the day. Besides the gallery there is a great vibe in the town, amazing food and tasting rooms. Last week I had an amazing lunch from Zavalas Barbecue. He is an amazing chef with a food stand and cooks your lunch to order. He locates himself in front of different tasting rooms around town. You can follow him on instagram: @zavalasbarbecue to find him on any given weekend. I was also introduced to the Brewer Clifton Winery tasting room and tried their amazing Chardonnay https://www.bygregbrewer.com/visit. It is a beautiful tasting room and Blake was schooling us on their process and also how much he loves to work at this family run winery.
Every month on the first Thursday Downtown Santa Barbara becomes electric with energy and people. The Art Galleries stay open late and many of them will have the Artists hosting a meet and greet with wine and snacks. Come out and enjoy the festivities, you won’t regret it.
